HTC One (M8) vs. LG G3: Specs Showdown

LG G3 vs HTC One m8

In this post I compare the specifications of two flagship smartphones HTC One (M8) and the latest LG G3. HTC launched the One (M8) in May 2014 and LG G3 was announced in June 2014 so both these smartphones are new to the market and they pack in some of the latest technology. I will compare the specs of these two smartphones and based on that, will try to find which of the two comes on the top.

LG G3 has a plastic body but the build quality is very good, the back has a metal like appearance to it. HTC One has metal body and the build quality is simply amazing. Out of these two phones HTC One feels better to hold and fits nicely in your hand because it is slightly narrower than the LG G3.

HTC One has all buttons on its sides, while LG G3 has all the buttons on its back like its predecessor LG G2. The speaker on LG G3 is placed on the back of the phone, which is not a very good placement if you keep your phone on its back. The sound quality of the speaker is not as good as I expected since one of the thing that LG is marketing for this smartphone is the 1-watt speaker. HTC One has speakers on its front, which is a great placement for viewing videos and playing games. The quality of speakers on HTC’s smartphone is amazing.

Winner – HTC One (M8)

htc one vs lg g3 display screen

HTC One features a 5-inch Full HD screen at the resolution of 1080×1920 that means it has pixel density of 441ppi, which is great for any smartphone. However LG G3 has the upper hand with a 5.5-inch QHD screen at the resolution of 1440×2560 that takes the pixel density to 534ppi, which is stunning. The beautiful screen on the G3 is complemented by the super thin bezel that runs around the screen, 77% of the front of G3 phone is scree, which is amazing to look at.

Winner – LG G3

Processor, GPU and RAM

HTC One (M8) has a 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, Adreno 330 GPU and a 2GB RAM. LG G3 comes with a 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon processor, Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB RAM making it faster than HTC One.

Winner – LG G3

HTC One has 4 UltraPixel camera, it also has another rear camera on its back that allows you to do things like selecting the focus of an image after you capture it. LG’s G3 has a 13MP camera with OIS+ and new laser-assisted autofocus system. HTC has used the same camera from previous generation HTC One (M7) in the new HTC One (M8). G3’s 13MP camera shows better results better so I give this round to LG.

Winner – LG G3

HTC One (M8) has a 2600mAh battery that is not removable. LG G3 has a 3000mAh removable battery. G3 has a bigger screen so it needs larger battery to power it through the day. Removable battery for G3 is also an advantage.

Winner – LG G3
