LG finally unveiled the G3 on May 27,2014. There have been many speculations and leaks about LG G3 floating around the Internet for some time now. LG’s G3 has buttons on the back just like its predecessor LG G2, super thin bezels have also become a part of LG’s smartphones.

LG G3 features a 5.5-inch QHD Display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels that means a pixel density of 538 pixels per inch. Almost 77% of the front of LG’s G3 is screen, which looks beautiful.

LG G3 will be competing with Samsung’s Galaxy S5 for being the best android smartphone, and so we compare the specifications and features of the two flagship phones to see which of the two comes on top.

Screen:

LG G3 has a 5.5 inch Quad HD display with pixel density 538 ppi and a resolution of 2560×1440 while Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 5.1 inch Full HD display with pixel density of 432 ppi and a resolution of 1920×1080.

Size:

LG G3 has a larger screen than Samsung’s S5, but it still comes in a smaller form factor. Dimensions of G3 are 5.76 x 2.94 x 0.35 inches whereas dimensions of S5 are 5.59 x 2.85 x .32 inches. So with G3, LG has managed to pack in lot of hardware in a slightly smaller package.
Winner – LG G3.

Processor and GPU:

Samsung S5 and LG G3 both run on Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor at their heart clocked at 2.5 GHz and both have the same GPU chip Adreno 330. So we call this a TIE. 

Storage and RAM:

Both the G3 and Galaxy S5 have 32GB of integrated storage, which can be expanded using micro SD/SDHC/SDXC cards by up to 128GB. LG G3 has 3GB of RAM whereas Samsung S5 has 2GB RAM.
Winner – LG G3.

Camera:

Samsung Galaxy S5 has a 16MP main camera and LG G3 has a 13 MP main camera. LG G3 however has Optical Image Stabilization, the feature which S5 lags. LG has also added the new laser-assisted autofocus system. Looking at the specs alone Samsung S5 wins this round with a larger camera sensor.
Winner – Samsung Galaxy S5.

Battery:

LG G3 has a 3000mAh battery and Samsung S5 has a 2800mAh battery, both the smartphones have removable battery. Wireless charging capability is built in the LG G3.
Winner – LG G3.

LG G3 comes out as clear winner based on pure specifications. We will wait for the LG G3 to be officially launched, and we will put it up against S5 to see which of the smartphone wins in real life tests.
