Samsung has announced Galaxy S5 mini with a 4.5-inch HD screen. S5 mini looks like a scaled down version of its flagship device Galaxy S5. This phone is packed with a 4.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixel) Super AMOLED display, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera, 16GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 64GB via microSD card and 2,100mAh battery. These specs might be a setback for those who expected Galaxy S5’s specs in smaller package.
Galaxy S5 mini however gets the unique features of Galaxy S5 like Heart rate sensor, Fingerprint sensor and water resistance. Some of the other sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, digital compass, gyro, proximity, and ambient light sensor. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB, A-GPS, GLONASS, 3G and IR Remote. This phone will feature Android KitKat 4.4 and will be available in four colours: Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold.
There is no word on pricing but the phone will initially be available in Russia in early July, after which it will be available globally.
