Samsung announced latest member of the Galaxy family Galaxy Grand. This device features a 5-inch WVGA screen and runs Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Galaxy Grand is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual Core processor and has 1 GB of RAM, it comes with 8 GB built in memory which can be expanded upto 64 GB with a microSD card.
It has an 8 megapixel camera at the back with 1080p video recording and 2 megapixel front facing camera that will offer 720p video for video calls. Samsung has packed in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, HSPA+ connectivity and a 2100 mAh battery. The phone dose not seem to support LTE as of now.
Looks of the phone resembles a lot to that of Samsung Galaxy S3 with the rounded edges and rear camera in the centre, but the 5-inch WVGA screen with a low resolution of 800×480 is going to be a noticeable difference.
Galaxy Grand also carries 30gm of extra weight compared to Samsung Galaxy S3, thats due to the bigger screen.
Samsung Galaxy Grand will be available in dual-sim as well as single sim variants.
Samsung however has not revealed the price and availability of Galaxy Grand.
